UPPER Tamar Lake Sailing Club races on Sunday May 14
a.m. Tamar 1
On a beautiful sunny May morning the lake was almost awash with sailors - not just from the club, but youngsters beginning their summer training in windsurfing and sailing - and all were having a fantastic time in the light airs and warm sun.
So 15 club sailors set off on the first race of the day heading right up the lake to Far Mark, most managing it on just one tack. Jane Anderson headed the fleet in her Laser Radial with Stuart Mealing in his Radial snapping at her heals. Jane Chadney (Radial) was not far behind along with Sue Murray in her Topper Topaz.
As the fleet crossed the lake to Dam mark, the little sailors were shepherded out of the way of the course before the boats descended upon them.
