TWELVE gallant Launceston Road Runners took part in the fifth annual Looe 10-mile race recently.

The tagline for this race was ’Hillish and Hellish’ and they weren’t wrong as the race pushed the runners to their limits.

The route took the competitors out of Looe on the first of three major hills towards Talland Bay. This was then followed by ‘running’ the 300ft climb of ’Bridals Lane’ before looping back to Talland Bay and into Looe for a downhill finish.

The race was brilliantly organised by the Looe Pioneers Running Club with amusing commentary and a pasty waiting for all finishers.

Star performances from Launceston came from Brian Wiles and Jenny Mills, who both won their age groups by a large margin and Darren Evans who was the quickest from the club on the day.
