THERE?were just a handful of matches played in the North Cornwall Table Tennis League last week.
In?Division One, Budehaven A moved to within ten points of leaders Helland A after a 7-3 win at Torridge.
The home side’s points were picked up by David Streak, who remains unbeaten, however he had to survive an almighty scare against David Ewen who fought back from two-games down to force a decider, which he eventually lost 11-9 after coming from 7-0 down.
Dave Salisbury and Helen Murgatroyd also won two apiece as well as the doubles.
Crackington A picked up their second consecutive victory over Helland B with a 6-4 win on Bodmin Moor.
Frank Barnes continued his superb recent form to win all three of his singles matches as well as the doubles, while Ross Wilmshurst also won two himself. All three of the Helland players beat Judith Cook with Jim Rickwood beating Wilmshurst as well.
There was just one match in the second division with Crackington B beating Budehaven C, 6-4. Ross Paynter won all three for the home side with Keiron Chatterjea (Crackington) and Anthony Ward also winning two apiece.
In Division?Three there were were 4-1 wins for Budehaven D and Helland C over Bridgerule B and Budehaven F respectively.
