CORNISH martial artists are celebrating a string of medals won at the PUMA Southern Championships in Plymouth.
Millennium Martial Arts, based at Crunch Gym in Launceston, took 20 taekwon-do and kickboxing students and Little PUMAs to the tournament and watched them walk away with six medals having outperformed 500 other competitors.
Sandra Aldridge, 36, won gold in kickboxing, while Rory Burford, 19, took gold in sparing in the taekwon-do black-belt welterweight division.
He said: "I've won a couple of golds before but this is my first one in a black-belt division. It feels awesome, especially as it's my first black-belt competition. I train twice a week and do fitness pretty much every day."
