NINE dinghies took to the water at Upper Tamar Lake in bright sunshine and with a gentle northwesterly wind for the final racing day of the season.
Sailors were slow off the line as the wind died, but James Pollard (Laser Radial), his brother Nathan (Topper) and Jane Chadney in her Laser 4.7 were first away.
All were struggling to find a puff of wind to get to Middle Mark, then on to Pinky.
Bob Sampson (Laser) finally took the lead with Adam Hilton not far behind in his Solo.
