St Piran League East round-up – Saturday, April 20

DIVISION THREE EAST

BUDE Town enjoyed another perfect week in the league as they close in on the title.

The Seasiders eventually eased past neighbours Week St Mary 6-1 last Tuesday night despite falling behind ten minutes in through Corey Gilbert.

Ruan Tape’s double gave Bude a half-time lead before Alfie Rowland, Harrison Swatton, Jago Tweitman and Louie Steege gave them the points.

Then on Saturday they were handed a walkover as Grampound were unable to raise a side, meaning seven points from their final three games will give them the title.

Week St Mary bounced back on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against visiting Lostwithiel with Camden Skinner and Jake Burnage on target for Week.

Elsewhere around the Post area, Gunnislake Reserves had a difficult afternoon in their double-header with Gerrans and St Mawes, losing 3-1 and 5-0.

DIVISION FOUR EAST

LIFTON Reserves bounced back from their midweek defeat to North Hill by winning 3-2 at their Boscastle counterparts on Saturday.

Zak Mitchell was the hero with a double.

Boscastle were beaten 2-1 by promotion-chasing Delabole United in midweek due to late goals from Ollie Price and Davey Tilley, although the Slaters may miss out on second following Biscovey’s six-point week.
