Sally Fycun won the annual President's day singles event, just two years after she first picked up a club.

On the day, a score of 45 points made her the top performer, helping to make up a top four, all from the section of Ladies captain, Rosemary Williams.

Sally only picked up a golf club when her son Timmy was introduced to the sport at an event held at Bridstow Primary school.

In her speech at the prize giving event, Sally paid tribute to head professional, Tim Hall and his 'School of Golf' for not only helping her but all the Fycun family who have now caught the bug.

As a complete newcomer just two years ago, Sally now has a handicap of 23 as she continues to improve.

Sally's son, 11-year-old Timmy, also competed and finished in 20th with 36 points.

The juniors were led by 12-year-old Harry Griffiths who finished in 9th with 38 points, just behind 16-year-old Ross Juniors captain, Sophie Price, who was the days runner up with 43 points.
