LAUNCESTON-based duo Nigel Ryall and Andy Ridgman retained the Sunday Independent Pairs Handicap snooker competition recently at St Neot Social Club.
They beat the father and son pairing on Ian and Aaron Grainger from the Essa Club in Saltash 3-1, with top Plymouth referee Nick Harry officiating.
Ryall (pictured left) and Ridgman (right) were playing off a -35 handicap, the lowest in the competition, giving a 49 start to the Saltash pair.
Although the Graingers won the first frame, Ryall and Ridgman then went 2-1 up thanks to a 37 break from Ryall and getting the better of a scrappy third.
The fourth frame was close with four reds gone, before Ridgman showed his class to make a match-winning 102 clearance.
