ANOTHER welcome boost for the Cornish All Blacks’ pack is the signing of ex-Coventry player, Rob Dugard.
Dugard, 29, who grew up in Camelford, started his career at Bath Academy, before joining Coventry, playing 100 games in the Championship. After a season with Birmingham Solihull, and a season with Plymouth Albion, he returned to Coventry.
Last year, due to job location, he played for Broadstreet, in National Two North.
Recently, the prison officer transferred back to the West Country and was on the look-out for a new club.
Dugard, who plays both tighthead and loosehead prop, said: "I always wanted to get back to the area. I had just transferred down with work and I knew Mike [Lewis] from the old college days. When he contacted me I was quite keen to sign up. Now I’m looking forward to the fixtures and getting stuck in.
"I’ve met a couple of the other guys, had a it of a chat and everyone’s been really welcoming. The players seem really keen and training’s been good. With losing the lads to Plymouth, it was a bit of a kick in the teeth it once you sign a few, it soon picks up."
