CORNISH All Blacks joint head coaches Ian Goldsmith and Ryan Westren have recalled Tom Sandercock, Glenn Coles, Levent Bulut and Dan Goldsmith for tomorrow’s South West Premier clash with Maidenhead at Polson Bridge (3pm).

Following three heavy defeats to start the season against Exeter University, Exmouth and Ivybridge, and then a week off due to a bye, the All Blacks face Berkshire-based Maidenhead, who boast World Cup winner Will Greenwood among their coaching staff.

The Maids have won two and lost two of their four fixtures so far, but are on the back of two straight defeats, including a thrilling 36-33 reversal at home to Ivybridge last Saturday.

Earlier this week, CABs player/coach Westren asked his side to ‘execute the basics on both sides of the ball’, and they’ll hope that the recent wet weather coupled with a raucous home crowd can ensure that the recently-promoted All Blacks start to compete at Step Five.

However, they have a number of players out.

Forwards Chris Macdonald and Tom Bottoms are injured, while in the backs, Reuben Edwards is yet to recover from cuts sustained at Ivybridge a fortnight ago, and Dan Pearce is away.

Despite that, there is some good news.

Sandercock and Dan Goldsmith were both fit enough to play in the second team’s 48-7 victory at their Bude counterparts last week and have been selected to start at full-back and lock respectively.

Sandercock makes his opening appearance of the season while Goldsmith is in the matchday 18 for the first time since September 7.

There are also recalls for hooker Levent Bulut, which means that Brandon Rowley switches to number eight with Gary Gynn not selected, and fly-half Glenn Coles.

Coles’ inclusion for Edwards, means Westren moves back into the midfield to partner Shaun Crawford, and Alfie Lang comes on to the bench.
