Western Counties League (West)
Wadebridge 41
Bude 31
BUDE put in a much improved attacking display to pick up a bonus point in a 11-try thriller at North Cornwall rivals Wadebridge and remain in the hunt for Western Counties League survival.
The Seasiders had to play against a strong wind in the opening 40 minutes and found themselves 20-10 down, a deficit they failed to recover from despite winning the second-half.
Wadebridge scored first-half tries through Adam Blackmore, Rhys Bright (2) and Callum Wilson with Bude replying through a converted Simon Jeffery try and a kick from Dan Pearce.
Adam Black’s visitors played some fine rugby in the second-half to score converted tries through Ed Hilliam-Cooke and a brace from Pearce.
However, the Camels were always in front and added tries after the break through Matt Ballard, Ben Hawken and Dom Hawkey.
James Grubb converted three of the seven tries.
Bude remain third bottom on 30 points, and will aim to finally win away from home this term on Saturday when they travel to Somerset to take on basement boys Wellington who are just three points behind.

FINLEY Fry scored a sensational hat-trick as Bude thrashed last year’s county champions at Bencoolen Meadow.
The Colts hadn’t played for a month, however they flew out of the blocks as their powerful pack took control from the off.
They took the lead through Fry’s excellent run before Zerryn Hammond scored the try of the day as he picked up the ball in his own half and ran his way to the line.
Second-half tries from Celyn EB, Archie Harris, Brad Thomas and a further brace from Fry sealed an incredible victory.
