CORNISH All Blacks kick off 2016 with a home tie against Canterbury on Saturday, and it is surely a must win game if they are to escape the almost certain drop out of National Two South.

Without a win after their opening 14 matches, and only one draw to their name, the All Blacks are 16 points adrift from second-from-bottom. It just so happens that team is Canterbury, the visitors to Polson Bridge this weekend.

Despite the loss of the Cornish derby away at Redruth before Christmas, the players and coaching staff at Launceston can take positives from that game, with Head Coach Jimmy Tucker pleased with the players’ passion.

They will need all the passion, hunger and desire they can muster up on Saturday to begin the climb back up the National Two South table to safety, and what better way to start the year than with that first win. Kick off at Polson Bridge is 2.30pm.
