A SMALL but dedicated crew came together for the NatWest RugbyForce day at Camelford RFC on Saturday, June 23.
The volunteers set about tidying the entrance to the ground and checking the pitch over. Work was done on maintenance of the club’s store rooms and the pitch in general with the aim of preparing the surface for cutting and to audit training and playing equipment.
The fantastic early summer’s weather was a real bonus and after toiling hard at the field, the helpers adjourned to Camelford Conservative Club to watch England beat South Africa 25-10 in the third test.
New club coach, Tyrone Jordaan, joined the workers and assisted in the clear up coaching all on how to ‘do it’.
He was then mercilessly teased as England took the win against his home nation.
A club spokesperson said: “Our ground entrance is now looking considerably better and is more easily accessible.
“However, much work will be required of all members over the coming months to get our pitch ready for the upcoming tenth anniversary season.”
