Tribute Cornwall Two

St Agnes 50

CAMELFORD failed to build on their victory at Redruth Albany seven days previously as they were thrashed 50-0 by unbeaten St Agnes at Lane End.

‘The Ford’ went into the match confident of at least pushing ‘Aggie’ close, however they were put to the sword thanks to some running in close and clinical finishing.

Within ten minutes, St Agnes had put two tries on Camelford through strong running, and although the home side tried to regroup, the onslaught continued as they ran in two further tries before the break.

The half-time team talk was frank and it showed as Camelford finally rallied into life! Camelford’s defence became stronger with big hits coming in from all over and they finally started to gain for supremacy. But unfortunately for them, this did not help when going forward as Camelford did not manage an attack all half, instead they withstood the onslaught that St Agnes through at them.

Despite Camelford’s improved defence, St Agnes managed to touch down on four further occasions before the end as they reached the half century of points.

Saturday sees Camelford travel to St Just (2.30pm) a team in form who are always strong at home with the North Cornwall side knowing they will need to be at there best to beat them down there, but will travel with a strong squad and confident that they can deliveer an improved performance.
