BUDE RFC’s first team have found out their opponents for the 2023/24 Counties One Western West campaign that will get underway in September.

The Seasiders were effectively given a promotion under the RFU league restructure last summer, and although they struggled at times, did enough to finish third from bottom ahead of Paignton and Falmouth.

There are just two changes from last year’s division with Tavistock and St Ives both coming up from Counties Devon Two and Counties Cornwall Two respectively with Paignton and Falmouth avoiding the drop.

Topsham and Cullompton were comfortably first and second and have gone up to Regional Two South West.

Bude’s ‘derby’ games will once again be against Bideford, while Tavistock is less than an hour away. The majority of away trips involve long journeys.

The clubs competing in Counties One Western West for the 2023/24 season are as follows: Bideford, BUDE, Falmouth, Kingsbridge, Paignton, Penryn, Pirates Amateurs, Plymstock Albion Oaks, St Ives, Tavistock, Tiverton and Wiveliscombe.

BUDE Seconds and Launceston Seconds will once again compete in Counties Three Cornwall where they will take on new opponents.

The second teams of Falmouth and Saltash will be joined by St Austell Thirds who will be the only team in the Duchy to run three Saturday sides.

The clubs competing in Counties Three Cornwall for 2023/24 are as follows: BUDE 2, Camborne 2, Falmouth 2, Hayle, Lankelly-Fowey, LAUNCESTON CASTLES, Redruth Albany, Roseland, Saltash 2, St Agnes, St Austell 3, Wadebridge Camels.
