LAUNCESTON’S Development team returned to the top of the Duchy League at the weekend with a 29-0 victory over third-placed St Austell.
The win, however, came at a cost as one of their players, John Hiscock, suffered what appeared to be a serious neck injury that eventually saw the game ended early as paramedics treated the player.
Whether or not Launceston will stay at the top of the league come season’s end remains to be seen as second placed Camborne have two games in hand, but with eight points to make up, the pressure is most certainly on the side from West Cornwall.
Launceston have an away game at Bude on Saturday and are away for their last game of the season on April 16, against Truro 2nd team.
