Ross Cricket Club organised an evening to thank their sponsors for their support of the club on Wednesday, June 17th. Sponsors of the club could enjoy a drink in the newly refurbished Sports Club, while the junior cricket players took part in a training session.
Cricket Club Chairman, Stuart Mair told the Ross Gazette: "We're very grateful for the support everyone's given to us. It's enabled us to do so many things down here. We want Ross Cricket Club to be the best it can be, and the best place to play cricket."
The club has been able to purchase flat sheets, which cover the cricket pitch in wet weather, to make sure the ground does not become waterlogged. This means that games can still be played after it has rained.
Jim Lewis, the Club Secretary, explained that being able to put on matches in wet weather is important, because matches which get rained off regularly may cause some members to slip away from the club.
