Bude Bridge Club monthly report for September and latest results
Monthly report
CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Sylvia Rogers, who has been promoted by the EBU to County Master and the duo of Noreen Heslop and Margaret Swayne who won the North Coast Wine Handicap Pairs.
The 34th Cornwall Congress was held at the Falcon Hotel in Bude. Players from around the country enjoyed a very successful weekend — final results are available on the Cornwall Contract Bridge Association website.
There was only one Friday session last month but Tuesdays and Wednesdays have been well attended. Tuesdays produced a good variety of winners. The most consistent top scorers were Penny and Terry Abbott, who came top on three out of the four Wednesdays — congratulations to both!
As of October 1, all sessions now cost players £2.50, and £3.50 for visitors, who are always welcome. The club meet at 6.45pm on Tuesdays, 1.45pm on Wednesdays and 6.45pm on Fridays.
However it is advisable to check the club website as Friday sessions are dependent on numbers.
