MEMBERS of Bude Gig Club ventured to the more local waters of Appledore to compete on Sunday and collect another series of impressive results. It was another glorious day for both rowers and spectators, with the sea front packed with people watching and getting caught up in the excitement of the competition. Spokesperson Adelaine Chandler said: "It's always nice to compete against our more local clubs, there is a lovely familiarity between everyone, which makes for a lovely atmosphere. "However once on the water, the competitive nature comes into full force." The club came an overall fifth out of 11; with a third for the men's B-team, second for the men's vets, and fourth for the ladies B and the mixed.
