TWELVE members of Bude RATS (Running and Triathlon Club) took part last weekend in the Indian Queens Half Marathon, an event hosted by The Newquay Road Runners. The half marathon takes place in the village of Indian Queens, two miles south west of Newquay and is race ten in the Cornish Grand Prix series this year. Over 550 runners from all over the South West and further afield took part in what turned out to be a competitive field of entrants. The course is an undulating and predominantly rural route. Apart from the first and last miles the race is run over the countryside, five miles of which is on trails, all adding up to a interesting and challenging race, one which is seen as ideal to do in the build up to Bude's own multi terrain race, The Pirate Run, taking place next month. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.

ALL the Bude RATS ran well and finished the 13-mile race safely
