BUDE and District Quiz League held their annual charity quiz night in memory of Jan Pethick recently and it was once again superbly and generously hosted by The Brendon Inn — providing a free supper to 15 teams.
In total, the whole event raised over £770 for the Children's Hospice South West.
On the night it was impossible to separate the joint winners, so Social Club B and The Bridge Inn will share the Memorial Trophy for the year.
The best second division team , winning the Chris Scoffin Cup ,were The Bush Inn.
The Sportsmans Trophy for the whole season went to The London Inn.
Special thanks were given to Guy Pessel and his team for setting and scoring the quiz and Bill Kneebone for presenting, Sharps Brewery for subsidised beer and St Austell Brewery for lager.
The quiz league also thanked and presented gifts to their question setters for the season, Caroline and Sue, and the league secretary, Tim Freeman.
The winners of the Division One and Two titles, Bencoolen A and The Bullers Arms respectively, were also presented with their shields.
