A LACK of passion and too many errors cost Launceston the game against Southend.
Launceston's head-coach Spike Rainford said: "We had chances, but unfortunately we managed to not complete those chances and that's the difference between winning and losing."
Southend played the 80 minutes with an urgency that showed they wanted to win and they took all the chances Launceston gave them. Launceston looked close to scoring in the opening minutes of the game but they conceded a penalty and gave Southend the advantage.
Sloppy tackling by the home side made it easy for Chris Vaughan to make the break for Southend, setting up Samuel Nash to score the first of the team's five tries.
Southend extended their lead with a good penalty kick by Bradley Burr, followed soon after with their second try by Craig Strachan.
