AS the president of Bude Pilot Gig Club, Paul Finn proudly finished the clubs 24 hour fundraising challenge.
The club set about the 24 hour challenge rowing on Concept 2 rowing machines in the comfort of Bob Willingham's studio 'Studio South West' in Bude, which was quite pleasant in comparison to the club's usual rowing environment. However rowing throughout the night did put a different slant on the whole rowing experience.
The Challenge started on Friday evening at 7pm with Debbie Ponting rowing for the first hour, throughout the following 24 hours 34 of the clubs members rowed throughout the night and day. Some creeping out of their beds at 3am to do their stint.
The juniors rowed a total of 24km between them with Liam Johnston rowing a staggering 3,879m in 15 minutes. The adults rowed the remaining 286km, with Vicky Vincent rowing a total of 13,128m in an hour for the ladies and Steve Coles rowing 1,6265m in an hour for the men.
