PORT Isaac Rowing Club’s men’s team enjoyed their best ever finish at the World Pilot Gig Championships while the Men’s Supervets finished a remarkable 7th.
The Saturday races saw the main men’s and ladies races which attracted way over 100 entries.
The men finished 12th in Group F for a solid 72nd overall, while the ladies team just scraped inside the top 100 in 99th place — ending up in third in Group I.
The Ladies Supervets also did well as they came 21st out of 34.
Thanks were expressed by the club to men’s captain Tony Cook for coxing and rowing every single race in the men’s event and to Sue Hansford, who had her first whole Scillies coxing.
