EIGHT members, and partners, of Launceston Road Runners recently travelled to Prague in the Czech Republic to take part in the Half Marathon on Saturday, April 2.

The weather was perfect on the day and the route followed the river to both the East and West of the city, starting and finishing close to the historic Charles Bridge.

Conditions underfoot were challenging — cobbles to be precise! — but the Launceston Road Runners were proud to represent their club at such a cosmopolitan and international race.

Jon Spettigue even ran the race in his home made Cornish tartan kilt — and received quite a lot of interest!

Runners and partners took the opportunity to enjoy a long weekend and celebrated post-run with some Bohemia (local sparkling wine).

Road Runners times were:

Andy Parker 1hr 49mins; Jon Spettigue 1.54; Martin Venning 1.58; Peter McAughey 1.59; Chris Pritchard 2.00.40; Jane Pritchard 2.00.47; Sarah Swift 2.05; Ann Barriball 2.12

Personal Bests for Jon, Jane and Sarah — congratulations.
