BUDE Netball Club has had a busy 2013-14 season, with seven representative sides competing at all levels in the North Devon Leagues, based at Park School, Barnstaple. Bude entered two senior sides — the Stars, playing in Division Two, and Satellites in the third tier. At under 12 level, Bude were represented by the Rockets, Galaxies and Meteors, while the Jets and Comets compete in the under 14 division. Bude Stars narrowly missed out on promotion back to Division One, entering the end of winter season play-offs a mere point behind leaders Titans Jupiter. Bude's final four games saw a 41-35 victory over Venners, but 39-37 and 38-36 defeats against Titans sides Voyager and Jupiter respectively, and a 35-35 draw with Titans Pluto were significant. The latter pulled through to take the league, with Jupiter runners-up. Stars were disappointed with their final run-in, following a very positive and consistent season, with some tremendous performances — particularly from the junior members of the squad. Second team Satellites' end to the season was also frustrating, with relegation to Division Four confirmed a run of inconsistent showings.
