BUDE Sea Pool has hosted yet another successful open water coaching session with Cassie Patten, the Cornish Olympic bronze medallist.

On Sunday, June 5, two sessions were available to keen open water swimmers from in and around Bude, including one for beginners and developmental swimmers, and the other for more advanced and competitive swimmers.

On the day, 21 swimmers attended, having the opportunity to be coached on their breathing techniques, body positioning, sighting and stroke propulsion.

The event was organised by Mel Bardsley, who said: “There were so many good tips to improve overall stroke efficiency, let’s hope our brains remember them all.

“I am sure that everyone will be putting into practice Cassie’s fantastic coaching tips, and I look forward to seeing everybody practicing in the Sea Pool.”

Mel has hopes to organise a further session in October.

He added: “To all who helped market and arrange facilities for the day, to the amazing Cassie Patten who continually supports our fantastic Bude Sea Pool, and to the committed swimmers – thanks so much for your support.”
