THE Launceston Amateur Boxers have credited themselves with some very good performances in the first half of their season resulting in a National Female Junior Champion and an NACYP National Semi finalist. Here are some of the highlights.

Olivia Orchard (15) progressed through to the semi-finals in her bid for a National title and faced Jade Toogood (15) from the Frome ABC at the Duke of Cornwall in Plymouth on Thursday December 1.

A very fired up and confident Olivia climbed through the ropes with only one thing on her mind, to get that win and from the opening bell, took the argument straight to the Frome boxer unleashing three and four punch combinations backing her opponent to the ropes.

The Launceston boxer was relentless, unleashing with fierce left and right hooks to the body then switching and connecting with heavy left hooks to the head. Olivia denied the taller boxer from Frome ABC the space or time to get her own shots off and was struggling with the constant pressure and it wasn't long before a left hook found the chin, knocking Jade down to the canvass.
