LAUNCESTON Youth Hockey Club held their AGM and presentation evening at Trethorne on Wednesday, March 30.
There were over 100 people in attendance and everyone had an enjoyable evening — especially the prize winners!
It has been a successful year across all age groups at Launceston Hockey Club, with the mixed U10s team, the U12 boys, and U14s mixed team were all crowned county league champions.
The U10 squad went to Penzance for four Sundays, playing two teams from Truro, two teams from Penzance, Caradon, Falmouth and St Austell.
In total, they played 14 games, winning 12 and losing just two. They scored a massive 62 goals and only let two in — great credit to them as some players are as young as eight!
The U14s league was run over four Sundays at Liskeard, where they played Truro, Caradon and Penzance.
They played 12 games, winning seven, drawing three, and, like the U10s, losing just two.
Some of the players in the U14s squad were as young as U11 which shows just how talented the players are.
The U12 boys played their league over four Sundays at Truro, playing 14 games against Penzance, St Austell and Caradon.
They had a spectacular season, winning all 14 games, and in doing so were clear league winners, scoring 45 goals and letting in only three.
This squad were also runners up in County Cup, which means on Sunday, April 17, they will be going to Bristol for the regional finals — an amazing achievement.
