THE Bude and District Darts League held their annual prize-giving and finals night at The Lucky Kiss on Monday, April 9.
The night started with the presentation of the league trophies.
Old Orchard A finally lost their grip on the title after three successive triumphs as Lucky Kiss A took the championship by just two points.
That despite losing three and drawing one of their 16 games compared to the Week St Mary-based club, who won 15 and lost just one of their fixtures.
In Division Two, there was a debut season to remember for Bullers Arms as they went unbeaten throughout the year, drawing just one of their 16 fixtures to take the title by 44 points from runners-up, Kings Army, who couldn’t be there to collect their trophies.
Across the two divisions, Old Orchard A’s Michael Beard hit the most 180s with nine while Old Orchard B’s Robin Worden hit the highest checkout with a brilliant 140.
Both divisions held their respective Open Singles and Open Doubles events on April 9.
In the top tier, Beard got the better of Worden in the singles final while the Crooklets A duo of Dean Troop and Lee James beat Bencoolen C’s Robin Bale and Ady Larkin to the doubles trophy.
In Division Two, the singles event was won by Bencoolen A’s Zerren Bell after the rugby referee beat Matt Schofield from the Bullers Arms.
However the pub were represented in the winners circle as Scott Snowden and Chris Waylen defeated Social Club’s Dan Sheppard and Joe Giles.
