UP until the New Year Budebats Basketball Club where flying high at the top of the Plymouth and District Basketball League. They were on a 6 win and 2 loss run and brimming with confidence.

However, the loss of leading player Will Laughlin has posed a serious questions over whether the team can still put enough points on the board to continue their winning ways.

Leading up to the Christmas break, the Bats had edged victory over Blindology Blinds, local rivals Callington Roo's and the Muskrats, celebrating their mid-season success with an amazing feast at Life's A Beach, their main team sponsor.

Since the break the Bats have been on a three game losing streak. A visit to Wadebridge resulted in a crushing defeat at the hands of last season's league winners. However, one good point taken away from that game was the performances of Bude's younger players. Culminating in Bradley Olde receiving the Most Valuable Player award.
