EIGHT young trampolinists who train at the Zero Gravity Academy and at Launceston Leisure Centre, competed in the British Schools National Trampoline Finals for 2019 in Cannock, Staffordshire on Saturday (March 2).

The competition, which was extremely well organised and had nearly 500 competitors, started at 8am and finished at 6.30pm, but saw plenty of memorable efforts with the trio of Arran Stannard-Heap, Oliver Vine and Sam McTerman achieving top-three finishes.

The results are as follows:

Arran Stannard-Heap (Callington College) — 3rd in the Under 14 Boys Elite category; Emillie Hughes (Notre Dame Roman Catholic School) — 4th in the Under 13 Girls Category Two; Thomas Barriball (home schooled) — 9th in the Under 14 Boys Intermediate category; Oliver Vine (Delaware Primary School) — 3rd in the Under 11 Boys Intermediate category; Adam Hzoucha (Launceston College) — 5th in the Under 13 Boys Novice category; Mason Parker-Groves (Ashwater Primary School) — 4th in the Under 11 Boys Novice category; Madison Vine (Launceston College) — 7th in the Under 14 Girls Intermediate category; Sam McTernan (Liskeard College) — 2nd in the Under 19 Boys Intermediate category

All eight competing children train with their coach Anne Dodds at Launceston Leisure Centre.

Anne said: “Everyone had a great time at the competition and visiting Cannock. It was a tremendous achievement by all of the children as they had to qualify through two previous rounds to reach the national final and their final results were fantastic, all of them achieving places in the top half of their categories and final placings in the country.

“I would again like to thank all of the families involved for the support I received on the day and during the run up to this competition, especially those parents who gave up their time on the day to help officiate.”
