HISTORY was made at the Tree Inn, Stratton, on Sunday night, where Lee 'LJ' James became the first ever winner of the 'La Cinquenta' darts tournament in euphoric fashion.

The event was the brainchild of Rob Saxton — mastermind behind the annual Sensible Soccer World Cup — and saw 21 competitors vying for glory in matches counting down from just 50.

The emphasis was on quick fire play, with the possibility of a one dart checkout adding to the unpredictability of proceedings.
