KIERON Lewitt's crucial penalty, six minutes from the end of normal time, earned the Cornish All Blacks a draw against their old Duchy rivals Redruth in front of a packed Polson crown on Saturday afternoon.

More than 1,300 people were in attendance to see a very scrappy, low quality, but ultimately very absorbing contest between two evenly matched sides.

Launceston skipper Lewitt also had a chance to win the game three minutes from the end, but he got underneath his 42-metre effort and it fell short of the target, marking his first miss in six throughout the contest.

If that had gone over, it would perhaps have been cruel on the Reds, who outscored their opponents three tries to nil, and saw several other chances go begging.
