A PLEASANT sunny morning with a moderate westerly breeze was sufficient to tempt out ten sailors for Upper Tamar Lake's annual Boxing Day race.

The three Lazers of Bob Sampson, Steve Axford and James Pollard made good starts and were in keen competition with each other throughout the race.

Another battle was taking place between the three Bosuns of Simon Veal, Toby Tobias and Adam Hilton, with crew John Dabbs. Also keeping up with the fleet was Nathan Pollard in his Topper.

New young sailors Alex Clifton and Joe Talbot-Adams had unfortunate teething problems with their new Christmas present Topper, but at least christened it.
