THE latest edition of Clash of the Clubs saw hosts Launceston entertain competition from Wadebridge and Bude. The tournament featured events for players in mini-red, orange, green and junior tennis, and offered up opportunities to improve LTA ratings — as well as the clash title, which, on a separate leader board, offered up points for players in attendance, points for matches played and points for matches won for each club. Marley May of Bude won the red event, but Launceston boasted the biggest entry in the mini tennis, and Matt Ryall won a pulsating orange competition which saw Matt and Ben Bryant — both of Launceston — finish a round robin event on the same amount of matches and points earned. A play-off decided the outcome in Matt's favour, and he went on to beat Daniel Howgill of Launceston in the final. Will Heard, also of Launceston, took very little time in winning the green event and Launceston were in control of the leader board.
