LAUNCESTON Road Runners are going from strength to strength and the club now has a total of over 150 members, having more than doubled in size in the last two years.
They recently held their annual awards night presentation at Lifton Farm Shop to celebrate their success over the last year.
Awards on the night, included elite runner Dan Rodgers winning 'Performance of the Year', Kirsty Freeman receiving 'Most Improved Female Runner' and Darren Evans who took home 'Most Improved Male Runner' to name just a few.
The Road Runners are proud of the achievements of all their members and certainly know how to let their hair down —as they proved on the night!
If you have been near Launceston on a Tuesday or Thursday night, no doubt you would have seen the group running around the town come rain or shine.
Club Night social runs on a Tuesday have never been more popular.
The club are launching another of their hugely successful Starter Groups on Tuesday, April 7 – immediately after the Easter holiday, and all are welcome to come along.
Whether you are new to running, coming back after injury, or looking for some company, an eight week programme has been devised by our team of club coaches for total beginners to reach a goal of running 3 miles.
The club meet twice a week; Tuesday at 6:45pm and Thursday at 7.00pm, both in the lobby area of the Phoenix Leisure Centre.
In addition to the club runs, Launceston Road Runners provide core training sessions on a Wednesday evening, developed to help increase strength and flexibility, at a very low rate. Throughout the year, the club holds numerous social events which prove to be very popular! Other benefits of the club include discounted race entry. Once you have sampled these great benefits and decide to join the club, annual membership only costs £20.
