THE Launceston and District Darts League gets underway on Monday night (September 3) with the Open Division, which will see 13 teams taking part once again.

Countryman B will look to retain their title after taking it from their A team last season and they meet on the opening night.

Other matches on Monday will see Jens Renegades host Archers Arms A, Wanderers welcome White Arrows, Old Rattlers entertain Westgate, Pint and Post make the short trip to Village Inn, and Archers Arms B take on Tribull.

Kensey Clowns have the first bye of the season.

For the 2018/19 season, the league have introduced a Supplementary Knockout Cup where the losing five teams in the preliminary round of the Knockout Cup will then compete for the trophy.

The ladies division, which starts on Thursday, September 20, consists of nine teams as Top Cats and Jens Devils have had to withdraw.
