THE Launceston and District Darts League held their annual presentation and awards night at the White Hart Hotel, Launceston on Friday, June 9.

Over 50 people were in attendance with plenty being unable to make it due to holidays and other commitments.

League secretary Beryl Allen officiated the evening with David Sillifant presenting the trophies before a buffet was served at the end.

Many teams donated the cost of their trophies to a charity of their choice totalling £524.74.

There were 43 awards presented to players for hitting 180s throughout the season with Kevin Adams (Countryman A) topping the table with a very impressive nine although John Yelland (Village Inn) wasn’t too far behind with seven. The highest from the ladies was Hayley Brant (Castaways & Old Rattlers) with a very respectable six.

There were awards for the highest male and female checkout for the season. These went to Maurice Davey (Eliot Arms) for his 156-finish and Anna Johnson (Castaways and Old Rattlers) for her 126. A special 170-finish award being the highest possible checkout available was presented to Mark Edwards (Countryman B).
