THIS year St Piran's Day at Bude Golf Club was more popular than ever with 66 people turning up for the shotgun start on Sunday March 11.
The format was a 3BBB, 2 scores to count with each group playing for Cornwall or the Rest Of The World then the stableford points that were scored by each team went to the relevant side.
A special thanks to Paul Langford from Tasty Pasties in Bude who baked 80 pasties especially for the day and who also donated a whole host of prizes which meant that every team that played won a prize. Thank you Paul!
Mr Captain, Dave Ward, and Mr President, Pete Cracknell, bought the pasties for everyone that played and players were able to make a donation to the Captain's Charity, Stratton Hospital and over £200 was raised on the day.
Carol Yeo, Pat Upwood and Sam Ward served the pasties along with tea or coffee half way round, perhaps that had something to do with the good golf.
St Austell Brewery also donated a keg of beer for after the round so a special thanks to them too.
