WITH the weather finally starting to relent, the vast majority of the local sport was played over the weekend with plenty to get your teeth stuck into.

In Regional One South West, Launceston Rugby Club’s first team made it four wins on the spin as they came from 17-7 down to beat Exmouth 29-24 at Polson Bridge. Inside is a report as well as pictures while we also get the thoughts of joint head coach Ian Goldsmith.

Elsewhere in the rugby union, Bude’s first team and ladies team took on their Bideford counterparts in North Devon.There are reports from both although the ladies’ game was abandoned seven minutes into the second half due to a home player suffering a broken ankle.

In football, after several weeks of poor weather, only one local game was postponed, the important clash between title hopefuls Calstock and Pensilva in Duchy League Division One.

In the South West Peninsula League , we hear from Holsworthy joint boss Ryan Hall after their 2-1 victory over Elmore in Premier East, while there are reports and reaction from Bude, Launceston and Camelford’s games in Premier West which included the Seasiders winning 3-2 at leaders Wendron United.

We also hear from Shaun Vincent following his recent departure from SWPL Premier West outfit Callington Town.
