THIS week, Harriet Franklin of Bude talks about her life as an enthusiast for all things equestrian, including her accomplishments both in and out of the saddle.
Growing up in a family that had always had horses, Harriet didn't take long to don her jodhpurs. She was in the saddle at only two-years-old and took part in her first competition not long after, at her first Pony Club Camp. Her passion for all things equestrian only served to grow over the following years and aged eight Harriet took part in a side saddle display at the Royal Cornwall Show — one of the country's biggest agricultural events. By the age of nine, she was taking part in tetrathlon — shoot, run, swim and ride.
Now 25, Harriet has taken part in competitions too many to mention over the years, covering a range of disciplines and locations, yet her passion remains unwavering.
