DESPITE the early fears that golf might be a passing fashion, Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club opened in 1891.

One hundred and twenty two years later, the club is still looking after its members and still welcoming all golfers and patrons.

When the first golfers stood on the first tee, some things were different and some things not so different. Queen Victoria was on the throne, Jack the Ripper was still stalking Whitechapel, Thomas Edison patented something called a motion picture camera and two months later patented a device called the radio, and the first petrol powered car was unveiled.
