All three members of the Cann family have had a long and illustrious reign as amateur golfers both on the County and National scene.
David and Peggy's daughter Susan won her first Cornwall Ladies Championship in 1978 at the age of 16, she then went on to win the Championships a further six times. Susan also reached the final another six times. Susan played for the county for over 20 years. In 1979 at the age of just 17, Susan was a semi-finalist in the English Girls Championship. In 1991, Susan became Lady Captain for Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club and achieved the title of Club Scratch Champion no less than 14 times.
