HOLSWORTHY Social C retained their Holsworthy and District Euchre League title by just one point after Nondescripts fell to a 5-4 defeat at London Inn.

Nondescripts went into the final round of fixtures with a one point cushion at the top, but were edged out at third-place London Inn, leaving Holsworthy the chance to sneak in and become champions once more.

Bude Social C finished fourth after a 6-3 win at?Bridge Inn while Bude Social A were sixth after edging out bottom of the table Crown Jewels in their final game.

In the Bude Shield, Bude Social C edged to the title with Bridge Inn being the runners up.

Now that the league title and Bude Shield have been decided, the cup competitions start with Holsworthy looking to make it an even more successful season.

All league members are reminded that the annual presentation night and dinner will be held at the White Hart?Hotel in Holsworthy on Friday, March 17, from 7.30pm.

A carvery and sweet will be provided at £13 per head.
