THE origins of the SCBU Cup go back to October 24, 1990, explains Holsworthy Bowling Club spokesperson Sylvia Langford, when our eldest grandson Lee was born three months prematurely at North Devon District Hospital, and subsequently spent the first three months of his life being cared for in the Special Care Baby Unit (hence, SCBU).

Being so impressed by the superb care and attention shown, not only to Lee, but also to all the other babies in their care, we decided to find a way of raising some money to help to buy any little extras that the unit may require.
