THE summer term half term saw Launceston Tennis Club host the ‘clash of the clubs’, a competition between the mini, junior and adult members of Launceston, Bude and Wadebridge tennis clubs.

Points for attendance, matches played and matches won as well as a chance to improve on your lTA player rating were the order of the day.

Ruben Mudd won the orange and green event and put Launceston ahead on the leaderboard.

The juniors saw a great entry by the Wadebridge club and they dominated the event with Charlie Lang winning the junior boys singles title.

Charlotte Halls of Launceston won the girls event but it was Wadebridge that ran out as champions.

The Road to Wimbledon tournament, held 24 hours earlier by Wadebridge saw Will Heard and Charlotte Halls make it a Launceston double, winning the boys and girls event.

Will and Charlotte now go onto the county finals for a chance to represent Cornwall in the national finals held at Wimbledon in August.

Thanks were expressed to all players, officials and spectators who contributed to the success of both events.
