THE England and Wales Cricket Trust (EWCT) is pleased to announce that Launceston Cricket Club has received grants from the EWCT £50,000 and Sport England £50,000 towards the cost of the second phase of their pavilion development.
This phase is costing £104,000 approximately and the total project cost will be in excess of £200,000.
The EWCT's grant aid programme aims to finance capital projects, including renovations to improve facilities which contribute to sustaining and increasing participation.
Launceston Cricket Club had been previously identified by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Cornwall Cricket Board as a club of strategic importance, and because of their willingness to actively support ECB development policies.
Launceston Cricket Club Joint Development Manager Mervyn Dawe said: "Last year we demolished all the mobile caravans which used to be our changing accommodation and last winter we built the first phase of our new pavilion and we were delighted to be awarded further grants which will enable us to build the second phase so that our pavilion will be ready in advance of next season.
