Fun competition — Thursday, November 22

LAST week ladies captain Sharon Trafford ran the last event of her year in office before handing the reins over to her vice-captain Elizabeth Swords (left of photo).

The fun competition was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone taking part, which was played in teams of three with two scores to count.

However on the fourth and ninth greens, players had to swap putters. Everyone had a free putt on a green of their choice and one hole was double points, which was unknown to players until returning to the clubhouse.

The winning trio were the team of Liz Hicks, Bridget Christophers and Julie Finch with the magnificent score of 81 from the trio of Carole Hutchinson, Beth Ratcliffe and Catherine Slee (75pts) on countback from Anita Ley, Linda Muliins and Val Raine.

Elizabeth was elected in as ladies captain at the ladies annual general meeting on Sunday, November 25.

Club secretary Alan Creber said: “Sharon has worked really hard as ladies captain and the ladies section and the club as a whole thank her for that and wish Elizabeth well in her year.”
