Christmas Mixed — Saturday, December 22
THIS ten-hole mixed competition is now a very popular addition to the calendar, played as a greensome where both players hit tee shots and then play alternate shots from the best drive.
Everyone goes away with a prize but the best scorers on the day were Ron and Jules Hester on countback from Alan Creber and Liz Hicks.

Winter League
(round two) — Sunday, December 23
THE second round of this six-round competition had to be postponed a few weeks earlier and was re-scheduled for the Sunday before the festivities began, which did mean a slightly reduced field.
Best score of the day came from the resurgent Phil Honey and his partner Graham Cornish who scored 43 points.
On 42 points were three teams of Ken Farquharson and Roger Kellow, Steve Ham and Mark Garland and Ryan Christophers and Darren Webber.
Boxing Day Cross Country — Wednesday, December 26
NEARLY 50 people turned out on Boxing Day for the cross-country competition when players wander all over the course even more than normal, but this time intentionally!
Best score on the day was Gareth Knight with an excellent net of 28.25.
Chris Turner was second on 31.75 with Jamie Baker and Baron Dorgan on 33.
Ladies Section

LAST Thursday’s competition was one where partners were drawn after the game in a stableford format.
For the second week running, the pairing of Carole Hutchinson and Sarah Ross took the prize with a score of 50 points over 15 holes, which was two ahead of the runners-up Jan Harrison and Barbara Murton.

We wish for successful years for the incoming captains Paul Hicks, Elizabeth Swords and Alan Ferguson. Thanks also go to Catherine Slee, John Bassett and Chris Gynn for sending their reports to me every week from the ladies and seniors competitions and matches.”
